Critique on proposed bill on BNPP commissioning

This critique is purely legal and addresses solely questions on the legality of certain provisions of the Bill, using international law, the Philippine Constitution and current legislation already in force and effect.

Apart from an evaluation of the legal challenges against the Bill, there needs to be a review as to why the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) was decommissioned in the first place. Have the conditions changed? If the conditions have not changed, then there is no justification for lifting the decommissioned status. An earlier draft cited the inherent defect in terms of design and structure. How does the consolidated bill address that?
